We all know that there are entire populations who are at risk of homelessness in the face of today’s affordable rental crunch. From veterans to teens who’ve aged out of the foster-care system to recovering addicts to the disabled, the problem isn’t money (there’s plenty of funding for housing through the organizations that work with these at-risk populations); it’s that not enough independent housing providers know the benefits of creating shared housing for them.
